Pakistan

My dear friend and fellow participant Mr. Imdad Ali from Pakistan ans I had an interesting discussion about the role the Taliban has in Pakistan. Western people like me thinking of Pakistan come up with two issues. Of course there is the flooding closely followed by the Taliban influence in the Swat valley area.
Please watch the short documentary by Declan Walsh. It shows the colorful festival ' Sehwan Sharif '  close to the place Imdad lives. Please pay special attention during the last minute of the spoken text. That’s exactly what the most of the Pakistani think. Click here of see the link on the right.

  4. The documentary shows again the need of the ordinary individual to live long and happy forever. External influences, caused by politics turmoil in the area, which effect the normal live of people are normally not wanted. They interfere with the personal need of coloring and interpreting the individual experiences.

This documentary shows that religion, in this case in a region where the Islam is worshipped, is more than the pictures we see on TV related to "the war of terror". Its shows the climax in ordinary people's life. A climax that may help to struggle for another year in hardship.
